SKOUT’s unique location-based software notifies other logged-in users within a predefined radius that someone nearby has posted new information. This enables end users, if they choose, to act and connect live. Whether it’s meeting a friend based on a picture of their location, dropping in on a nearby happy hour promoted by a local bar owner, or taking a chance and meeting someone new because they just posted a cool video, SKOUT offers a new way for people to have fun and connect with others.

Mobile phones are becoming increasingly popular as personal tools for social networking, calendaring, and location-based services. In the next 5-10 years, mobile phones will supplant PCs as the primary interface to the Web, particularly in applications that increasingly bring the online world into sync with our offline reality.
LightPole’s mission is to bring the world of geo-contextual content to the growing population—now counted in hundreds of millions—of mobile phone users. LightPole publishing services make it easy for publishers, bloggers, and other content providers to distribute content to mobile device users, and to engage those users in interactive communities. No special programming or expensive IT investments are required. LightPole enables publishers to easily extend the publishing systems they already have to reach new markets and build new communities.

The iPointer® empowers users to explore the world around them, pointing and learning based on geographic location and orientation.

For example, our patented pointing based search technology enables mobile users to identify a building, landmark, or other points of interest, by simply pointing their iPointer®-enabled handset and pressing a button. The iPointer® Client running on their PDA, cellphone or other mobile communication device collects coordinate signals from GPS satellites and orientation information from a digital magnetic Compass to identify the user’s location and pointing direction. These coordinates are then sent to the iPointer® Server, where iST’s patented geospatial selection algorithms identify the selected object. Location-specific information is then selected and sent back over the wireless network to the user’s device.
