People all over the world are invited to exchange ideas on how they can reinvent their local areas, offering examples of applications, open source code, and anything else that will help develop a collective approach to building these new DIY cities.

Over 30 years ago Mr. Dieter Duncker established ‘Antiquariaat Plantijn’, after having purchased an incomplete 18th century book with decorative engravings of Louis XIV on the battlefields.

In 2001 the decision was made to establish a shop with a storefront and an extensive and divers collection. Residing not too far from one of the major cities in the south, the choice of location was not too difficult and a suitable shop was found in the city of Breda.

The collection of Antiquariaat Plantijn may be considered as one of the largest of the Benelux. That the collection antique maps and prints is diverse is proved by the fact that not only does the collection contain country and city maps, but also decorative devotional prints, illustrated books, books on travels from the 16th century to 1850, manuscripts and many more.
